I don't understand who benefits from the Farage-Trump alliance. Would the average Trump supporter (who I imagine wouldn't be the type to take an interest in global politics) know who Farage is?

Does it raise Farage's profile to be seen with Trump?

Maybe UKIP supporters and our own right wing nutjobs approve of Trump?

Maybe Farage is going to run for president next time round?

Yes. It would be nice if he could just be the host of a TV show dedicated to enjoying the Pubs of Olde England, (like Portillo with his trains) but now he's tasted power I think his ambitions may be overmightier than that?
