Place to camp in Glen Nevis.

Off up to do The Ring of Steall leaving Friday, so need any tips on where to camp in Glen Nevis on Friday night. Would like to be close to road and will only be staying 1 night so tent will only be up in the hours of darkness. Cheers in advance for any replies.

Is there not a by law preventing camping in the Glen between Fort William and the Steall car park? Or are those signs just a lot of rubbish?

Only ever camped down near Steall Hut Crag, Glen Nevis. Got annihilated by midges in the morning.

The midges are pretty horrific right now. Took me an hour to dismantle a tent in the Cairngorms the other day there they were that bad!

Horrific. I'm heading up to the Cairngorms for three days in mid-September. Time to dig the full-body chemical warfare suit out of storage...

Mid September is normally fine. But it depends on getting even a small frost, but that's normal by then.
