Hollow tech 2 BB's

Probably a dumb question but...

is there way of telling in advance of removing the crank set if your hollow tech BB is screw fit or push fit into the bottom bracket shell?

i'm trying to order the parts i need to service my bike before i start pulling it apart as i'm going to be using a pay to use workshop facility to do the repairs my self.

If it's screw fit the visible, outer part of the cup will have splines and you'll need a special tool to screw them in/out.

Press fit are just smooth.

Do note that most new BB for threaded Hollow tech II's are a smaller diameter then the original. So you will need a TL-FC25 Adapter for Hollow Tech II tools. Some botombrackets comes with the adapter, some don't.

Also note that the TL-FC25 Adapter doesn't fit all tool brands.
