We are looking to move to the hills , possibly Snowdonia or the Lakes.
One of the benefits we are looking for is activity in winter, particularly climinbing in winter.
Does any one know of any data that gives information on the available winter days, when snow has fallen and below zero in both areas. I know this information is not a guarantee for the availabiltiy of winter climbing, it is just to try and get an idea of potential.
Anybodys opinions on the matter would also be appreiciated, and the general pros an cons of living in either area would also be enjoyed.
Other activites we are lookig to benefit form would be climbing scrambling and mountain biking, with some occasional coastal access.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Sounds like you should move to Scotland

Or the Pyrenees ... Lakes & Snowdonia are also coastal - better off getting further inland for winter stability.
