Hi, looking for and advice and tips for climbing and staying around Krakow.

I am on a tour of europe in a campervan and Krakow seemed like a good spot to pass through. Would be looking to stay in the area 1 or 2 weeks starting around the end of this month.

Looking for easy to mid grade sport routes that are well protected, there seems to be lots of grags in the area, has anyone got any recommendations for grags and where to stay and easily park up a campervan overnight?

Are there any websites or local climbing shops where I can get grag information and topos?

And even better are there any locals that wouldnt be interested in meeting for a climb?

Cheers,

Kat

Hi,

there are several on-line topos, however none in English language.
With some help of google translate it shouldn't be a problem.

Below are few I would recommend:

1. This one is very much up to date and it has crag photographs with routes drawn on them
http://topo.portalgorski.pl/Jura-Krakowsko-Cz%C4%99stochowska,obszar,34

2. Second one has fewer sectors, however still a good selection
https://topo.wspinka.org/

If you want to have a guidebook there's are several written. I would recommend one developed by Grzegorz Rettinger
https://sp.com.pl/jura-poudniowa-przewodnik-wspinaczkowy

Locations of stores where you can buy it in city
here

and here
https://www.google.pl/maps/place/E-Pamir.+Sklep+sportowy/@50.0589517,19.927...

Plenty of routes in the mid grade, with good protection.
Some sectors are on private properties therefore camping near crags should be avoided.
I suggest to avoid crag "Wzgorze 502" and "Fiala" because one of local tends to harass climbers.

Ivan
