After being suitably unimpressed with my last rope purchase (Beal Stinger 9.4 60m - v.fluffy/v.quickly,pig-tails often, ends feel very worn out) I'm after some opinions on which ropes will be fairly lightweight but will pass the test of time.

So, any opinions on the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to single ropes?

If you can wait til December, UKC will be publishing a comparison review of durable single ropes. No spoilers.

Thanks! I probably can
In reply to BAdhoc: I've used a Zero G for years and it never gives me any hassle. Most other ropes that my buddies use seem to knot and curl. Anyways, there you go.

I have a 9.4 Beal, probably the same one, which has been one of the best sport ropes I've had - taken an awful lot of abuse and still good to climb on ..
