According to weatheroutlook.com they did not issue that forecast......
'Mistaken identity
According to a report in the Daily Mirror today we have said the UK faces four months of snow and sub zero temperatures this winter. This is NOT correct. We have:
1) Not yet issued a winter forecast
2) Not spoken to journalists about the winter weather prospects
The quotes in the article appear to be a case of "mistaken identity" and we have been in touch with the Daily Mirror to discuss.
The TWO winter forecast will be issued in late November. At the moment we have published an article discussing the 2016/17 forecast indicators and concluded that things are finely balanced. Some pointers suggest a colder winter but these are offset by the persistence of above average temperatures in recent months.
When we have more information from the Daily Mirror this article will be updated.

The article in the Daily Mirror has now been updated and corrected. The primary source suggesting four months of snow is another agency which is in no way connected to TheWeatherOutlook. '
