Hi,

Can anyone recommend a <£500 notebook or laptop with:

- Enough ram/hard drive space and processor speed to edit photos (from a digital SLR)

- Light enough to take traveling

£60 over budget, and an open box refurb. Still you get a 4K screen, new i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. The 4K screen will be great for photo editing however it does kill the battery life, if this will be a problem and you don't think you will have easy access to power outlets when travelling then they also do a 1080p version.

Interesting option, thanks. My only concern is the 250 GB hard drive might be a little too small for storing a significant number of photos whilst travelling.

If they're going to be treasured photos, it might be worth factoring a backup option into your outlay in any case, either a cloud option if you're likely to have periodic internet access or a hard drive/extra memory cards just in case the worst happens and the laptop dies/gets lost/stolen etc..
