If you don't of, be careful. There's important stuff going on from your operating system.
You can usually get some info by Googled the process name but it's not always easy to be sure unless you know what you're Looking for.
A better place to begin would be check out what programs are starting when you boot up. Remove ones you don't recognise that aren't critical (shouldn't be many, Google and be cautious). You should see less then running during use so less need to delve deeper with less risk
