Hello everyone,
Southampton Uni Mountaineering Club are having our second freshers meet this weekend (22nd and 23rd) in the Peak District. We split our freshers meets up over two weekends to reduce the traffic on the routes. The crags we're planning on going to are Birchen and Stanage Popular. Our freshers are going to be paired with our more experienced members and will be climbing in small groups of 4, spread out along the crag. We are not planning on setting up any top ropes. All our freshers will be equipped with climbing shoes and they'll be an emphasis from the current members on showing good crag etiquette (no litter, no dirty shoes on the routes etc.). We apologise for any inconvenience we cause you and we'll do our best to keep this to a minimum. Please feel free to suggest any other ways we can improve how we run our meets too.
