Great Kit hire recommendations

Hi guys - what have been your experiences with kit hire in the UK and Europe? Any really great / really bad places to recommend (or not!) Thanks

In the UK, fine...snow shoes, cross country skis, all no problem.

In Europe, Via Ferratta kit. Harness etc was fine (we checked carefully), but the guy at first gave us cycling helmets to use with them and argued with us for a while that they would be fine.....

We've had great winter kit from Nevis sport in Fort William and Tiso in Glasgow before!

The mile strip in Edinburgh did a great service offering many of the tartan patterns at a very competitive daily rate.
