Hi,
I'm heading to Fontainebleau forest on Sunday (sadly with no kit and two out of three people being non-climbers) but wondered if any local experts reading this could recommend a favorite walking route in the forest to/from Paris train stops?
thanks!
Martyn

Not on the train stops, but if you have transport, there is a nice way marked circuit incorporating the Gorges aux Chats in the north of Trois Pignons - it's marked blue on the IGN 1:25,000.

The GR 11 is marked in red and by studying the IGN you can device numerous circuits incorporating some of the rock outcrops this passes

A word of warning though. The trails are constantly changing so navigation in the Forest can be challenging to say the least!!

Enjoy!

On Sundays there's an extra stop midway between Bois le Rois & Fontainebleau, from here you'll be in the forest in a few moments. From there head to either Bois le Rois or Fontainebleau by what ever combination of paths looks interesting (the paths waymarked in blue are more interesting than the GR (red & white), having a copy of the IGN 1:25 000 map would be very useful.

Excellent tips, many thanks, especially the extra Sunday stop! Off map shopping I go.

The path to the Memorial Monument to the Resistance is on a good if rough track with great views and historical interest. Its "Sentier rouge 25 bosses" . It loops around the Trois Pignons area.

A good walk but not very accessible by train

Get a taxi from the station... if you are going there you may as well go for one of the best local walks.
