Thinking a couple atleast. Maybe a few more to take the polish into consideration.

No idea about climbing, is a 7b hard?
If it was a not too serious 25+ mile run over the hills, I'd say 2 pints to relax but definitely stop after the third.

In reply to zimpara: Given your hardest redpoint is 7a, I'd say go for a nice round 12, each with a double whisky chaser. That should set you up nicely.

Lightweights the lot of you!
Recall the Last Ever (and one one of the 'ardest) routes I ever did was after a 21hr bender and an uncomfortable doss in the scrub above the mighty Mt. Arapiles.
Would not've passed a road alcohol test but ,,, whatever.
Smilies.

Rumour has it that before Alex Megos onsighted 9a he had chugged an entire bottle of 1938 Macallan.

Were you not looking for seriously soft drinks last week? Seems a bit of a stretch to be considering beer this week...

If you're fit then lots, if you're not then none.

Seem to remember Leo Holding finishing second in the UK ICC after a heavy night on the lash (some years ago).

Had Vimto Squash

In reply to zimpara:

More importantly - chips, curry, kebab or all three?

I reckon start with a curry and 5 pints of cobra, kebab, then a couple of halves of 'exhibition' and then chips with gravy. Bottle of port before bed.

In reply to zimpara:

Maybe save your pints until you've succeeded? breaking a new grade is worth a couple, more so if it takes you several sessions.

Sat drinking whisky round a campfire until 1am the night before my hardest headpoint (E4 6a), no idea how much I had, but I was definitely a bit pished when I went to bed

Climbed the route casually the next morning before breakfast!

Come on then, how many beers did you have?
Or, did you wimp out after debating if you'd hit the floor if you reached up for the third clip for hours on end and your headtorch batteries ran out?

In reply to zimpara:
I think you should give 7bs a miss and go for 8a

Forgot about this thread as I'm not subscribed to (off belay)

I had 1, which i'm blaming the poor show on. I must learn to listen to the more experienced posters and up the dosages for next time.
