I know everyone has their own views on clubs etc. but I thought I'd judge for myself...... can anyone recommend an active club in the Nottingham area?

Thanks

I don't know any local clubs as I am relatively new to the area. But I'm interested in the same.

The Oread could be a good option, certainly fulfill the "active" requirement

Ken, I'm a member of Peak Climbing Club. It's pretty much centred on Sheffield although we do have members from Nottingham. We have regular Tuesday and Thursday meets in the Peak District, as far south as Matlock, Black Rocks, Cratcliffe. There is also a fairly extensive program of weekend and longer trips. I think the club is very friendly and it has a decent age range from 18 to 65+ and a pretty good balance of men and women. During the winter we climb indoors at the Sheffield walls, which might be a bit of a stretch for you, but if you like the sound of it keep us in mind come Spring! Have a look at the website: http://www.peakclimbingclub.co.uk/

With it being so close to the Peak District, they seem to be mainly over there.

Maybe depends if you want evenings in Nottingham or weekends in the Peak but if you're on the west side of Nottingham Oread is closer for some people than NCC.

Awesome thanks, will certainly check it out in the Spring. I tend to be busy Thursday evenings but a Tuesday evening boulder I could do!
