The snow on the Ben has had a fright..was thinking of heading over to the Norries tomorrow. Anyone been in there today ? Much snow left ?

We went up Hidden Chimney (III). Conditions weren't great, just a bit too warm, slushy, soft snow and rimeless.

Nice to get out but maybe a bit too eager.

Did Pygmy Ridge today. Snow on ledges and rimed high up, but not in true winter nick. Still fun.

Yes, the thaw came in a lot quicker than the forecast said. I got up early but didn't leave the house. Sorry about that.

Couldn't agree more. I was hillwalking myself, S Cairngorms, almost constant pissing rain and I got wet through to my kex!

However, all "character-building" stuff and much needed by me for some routes hopefully later in the season.
