Reinforce thin goretex breeks at the ankle

Just noticed that my thin goretex overtrousers (Berghaus paclite - paper thin, but nice and light since they don't get worn that often) are showing a few wee holes and peeling membrane at the point where my ankles must be hitting together.

Is there any material that can stick to the outside to reinforce, I guess like the crampon patches you see on more sturdy trousers? I have fixed other tiny holes/rips previously with spinaker tape, but that won't be much use here as ideally I want a patch that won't peel after a bit of wear. Any suggestions??

Whatever you patch with you need to round the corners off - did you do this with the spinnaker tape?

has a tendency to go tatty

yes. the spinaker tape is fine, but more for invisible mending. its not hardy enough to make effectively a crampon patch on each ankle.

maybe some sort of stick-on cordura or similar?
