Hello

Hoping to get a Quality Winter Mountain Day for the logbook. Am foolishly wondering if there is any snow left in any of the hills between Aberfeldy and Kingussie.....( big area I realise).

Cheers

I did the Glen Lyon 4 on Saturday with a friend who was hoping it would count as a QMD for his logbook, but there was a lot less snow/ice than we thought, and he reckoned he couldn't use it. We never even got close to considering use of crampons/axe

More snow has gone since then, so I wouldn't think you'd get anything in the southern part of your big area, no idea on conditions further north though

I'd say no too.

Up Beinn Luibhean Sat and snow was soft and in a big thaw. A fair amount in the sheltered area between peaks but soft too. Didn't use my crampons or axe. Can't imagine much left given the warmth of the last 5 days.

Out on Meall nan Tarmachan on Monday - there is a bit of snow around, no need for axe or crampons but enough for a bit of practice if desired
