A pal of mine - John Allen - told me about this as he had contributed to the article, so I am posting it on his behalf. The article documents the achievement of Steve Hartland in becoming the first British climber to have ascended all the 82 peaks on the UIAA list of Alpine 4000's.

John takes a great interest in matters alpine and has become something of an authority on the 4000m peaks and their associated literature.

Nice article, I always take Blodig's and the UIAA list for granted, and was only semi-aware of Collumb's list, as info on that is patchy. Now I know.

I wonder how many Brits have done the 82.
I would have thought Martin Moran had done them all.
In reply to Raymondo:
As I understand it Steve Harland is the first & only one to complete the 82.

He did his own list of around 85-90 or so. His book is a great read BTW
