I'm going to change my compact camera and I was looking at these two. I'm pretty much a point and shoot guy but I'd like the option of some creative controls. I like the timelapse option on the Nikon but the sensor is much larger in the Canon. I appreciate that these are entry level models. Is it worth going for this type of camera?. I don't want a full DSLR as they are too bulky and heavy for me. Any experience or advice welcome.
Lot of love for the sony rx100 out there, had a brief play with my brother's camera and the pictures are good, night time and star photography are possible.
