Hi all. So last time I asked the ukc cyberworld to help with accommodation, you guys did a perfect job. Recommended the camping barn in Buttermere for me and my son's little backpacking trip, which was spot on!
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it is to recommend a little country hideaway for 2.
Looking for something like a cabin in the woods or cottage on a mountain side. Preferably in the lakes or Wales but maybe Scotland or elsewhere.
Looking for total seclusion, and plenty of walking and scenic views for a honeymoon escape.

Any suggestions?

Not quite total seclusion because there are a few cottages but it is fairly separate and in a very quiet spot.

It's quite small but it's lovely, stayed there some years ago.

Birkerthwaite Barn in the Lakes is remote and lovely. Its quite a big place for 2 people, but has a cosy living room. We spent a few nights there, and recommend the walk down to Stanley Ghyll waterfall. We didnt see a single person whilst we were in and around the cottage. Plenty of other walks you could do too.

The National Trust have loads of really nice looking places that might fit the bill.

A couple I know stayed here previously and raved about how lovely it was - http://www.nationaltrustholidays.org.uk/holiday-cottage/bird-how-holmrook-l...

This place in Wales looks stunning - http://www.nationaltrustholidays.org.uk/holiday-cottage/nant-las-dolgellau-...

Ty Capel? Beds might not quite suit a honeymoon, but I remember them being comfy enough when pushed together and it ticks the rest of the boxes I think.

Thanks everyone! I knew I could count on you guys. Some perfect suggestions there, will have a trawl through and show Mrs wan.

Saw your post a little later. Stayed here a wee while ago, and can't rate it high enough. The welcome pack is particularly special, and the location gives a sense of true remoteness. The owner is very considerate and has built this to an excellent standard.
Only accommodates two, plenty of peat for the stove, and self sufficient for electricity (solar and wind turbine).
Some great cafes and seafood suppliers on the islands and some wonderful beaches and inland walking.

Might be a bit of a curve ball - but Strawberry Cottage in Glen Affric.

I think its maintained by one of the scottish climbing clubs - maybe.

A loveley spot though.

It's a beautiful place! I'm Islay born and bred so maybe biased! Great for wildlife - we had a White Tailed Eagle on the beach in front of the house last week! The place is riddled with otters too!

I've rented through Under The Thatch, they've a nice range of cute cottages and cabins around the UK - from glam gypsy caravans in Pembrokeshire to wild places in the top of Scotland.

See, there, on the front page: 'secluded cottages' is right above 'romantic cottages'. Yep. That's you that is.
In reply to Obi Wan:

Maybe a treehouse? Top tip: the wood burner hot tub is awesome but takes several hours to get to temperature!

Lucky you! We watched 2 otters playing on the beach outside where we stayed near Port Ellen for 2 nights running + Minkes (not on the beach) - going back this year to Port Charlotte!

There is a one bed cottage at the back of a beach in on the north coast of Cornwall somewhere, that is nowhere near anything else or any roads , and yet inside it is really well restored and cosy.

It may have even been on this site that I've seen a link to it.

I know that sounds vague but it is quite unusual so may be be able to find it on google.

Yeah, we looked at this one already. It's stunning, exactly what we are looking for but a little pricey. 2k too pricey!
