I haven't been, but a quick Google brings up

Edit: I misinterpreted the next link.

http://climbgreece.com/leonidio/

Climbing conditions in Leonidio are ideal for winter climbing, as the concave red cliff above the town acts as a natural shield against bad weather. The best period for climbing in Leonidio is November to April, though some crags higher up in the hills are good for climbing even on hot spring, fall or summer days.

The vast majority of climbing routes in Leonidio are relatively new. Many still require thorough cleaning of loose rock and traffic to improve. Pieces still break off, so helmets are strongly recommended.

Click on any of the route names below for more information or to leave a comment.

Some stunning ice in Greece currently with the polar outbreak going on.

This appeared on Facebook the other day. Not quite sure where in Greece though...

A Greek climber gave an interesting talk about his local ice climbing last year at the International meet. Sorry I can't remember the names of the places.

In reply to drsdave: I've ski toured at Parnassos - very cold (-15 or so) and I'm sure there's potential for ice routes.

Using Google Translate on http://www.routes.gr should get you the ice routes

cheers

Yes Andy, so there is some chatter about this. Uum fancy a trip out there?
I might have to research this a bit more, can't think of a nicer place (other than Scotland of course) to climb a ribbon of ice.

In reply to Si Cox:

Yes Si, that's what prompted this thread, I wasn't sure whether Greece held the right conditions but it looks like it does, how plentiful they are is the question but then if one well formed route is there then surely others would,be also.

With peaks rising to 9000'+ and lots of mountains in the interior, there must be loads of ice climbing,
