We have an exciting opportunity to join the Technical team of a highly successful and fast moving outdoor brand. Rab is one of the UK’s premier outdoor clothing and equipment brands with strong international growth

We are looking for an experienced Product Developer & Garment Technologist who can bring their experience, skills and personal qualities to a committed and enthusiastic product team.

You will work closely with the Design team to develop product and with our manufacturing partners and QC function in Asia to ensure accurate delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Design team and overseas factories to develop product
• Assist with fit process and grading
• Prepare accurate technical specifications
• Work with factories to ensure Quality Standards are in place before start of production
• Make sure that our standards are delivered through manufacturing stages
• Carry out QC checks
• Continually review product quality

Competencies:

• Highly enthusiastic, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Resourceful and resilient
• Very high attention to detail
• Organised and efficient
• Ideally a personal interest in outdoor performance clothing
• Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning and organization skills
• Ability to re-design processes according to the business need
• Strong IT skills (e-mail, MS office)

Education and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Fashion or Textiles
• In-depth knowledge of all aspects of product construction
• Excellent organisational skills to manage the approval process with suppliers in line with the critical path
• Hands-on factory experience and knowledge of manufacturing
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong knowledge of the fitting process & grading
• Experience of reviewing test reports and good understanding of performance standards
• Experience working for a brand or retailer
• A full understanding of AQL inspections and reporting
