I got approx a third of the way up on my bike before I found it to be blocked by wind blown trees, there were approx 4 trees around the length of two terraced houses stacked one on top of the other, and there could easily be more further up the track.

Given the wind is continuing to blow as I'm posting this, there could be more blowing down during the night too.

Thursday midday the Long Causeway track from Redmires to Stanage Pole is blocked for about 200 metres, possibly 50 trees across it. Easiest to leap the fence to south and follow a faint trod down to the reservoirs where there is a stile.

Jesus that's a lot of trees.

Random fact. Lincolnshire dialect involves talking about ' Tread on the trod' for walk along the path.

Twitter would be one more thing to waste my time on, I'm not signed up to it.

I'd never get anything done.

I find it a really useful news source if you have niche interests, such as mountain biking or non-league football

Seen a report saying that the causeway will be blocked for a week.
