Are Julbo Colorado shades suitable for glacier travel? They are remarkably cheap and have a nice wrap around frame with detachable eye hood thingies. I'm just wondering whether they are really designed for snowboarders.

Sorry lucy, when i said yes they are i meant yes they are good for glacier use. You can get stronger lenses but not for such a good price.

Chris, They are generally cheaper than standard glacier glasses- about £35 in Cotswold for example. I am getting them at trade which makes them even cheaper!

I can't tell you exactly where I'm getting them cos the person ordering them for me has to pretend they are for him. Though how he managed to convince his work that my Marmot womens alpinist jacket size small was for him I'll never know....
