In reply to Steven Martin: Was there on Christmas Day before the 'freeze'. Considering we are now into the wettest part of the year there is still not a great deal of water going over the downfall (infact most was being blown up). So how well it will form under the present cold spell I am not sure!
I'm heading there tomorrow. Axes and crampons packed. hoping it will be fairly complete

In reply to Steven Martin:
Yeh
If its a failure we'll cross the downfall and traverse the ledges then climb Arpegio Gully. It will have a bit of ice and provide some sport
In reply to Steven Martin:
Was there on Saturday, rocks covered in a thin layer of ice but nowhere near enough to climb on yet. Very pleasant walking though.

In reply to Steven Martin:
been up there today. very incomplete which is very suprising considering the freeze.
Arpegio gully was good sport though with a dusting of snow and iced up cracks. Too many people on the summit plateau but then again I am selfish.

Thanks waldo, you saved me a wasted walk tomorrow. I'll get the bike out.
(P.S. Knotlow Cavern was excellent sport.)
