Maybe this should be down the pub but I still like to think of myself as an occassional alpinist...

Anyway I quite fancy getting some cool shades (for alpinism of course) like wrap-arounds etc but am not sure where I can get them done with prescription lenses.

Anyone any ideas - and if there's anywhere local (Leeds/Bradford/Skipton/Harrogate/York)?

If you like Oakleys there are places that can put prescription lenses in them (either O lenses, or generic ones) - I know a couple of places in Sheff so there are bound to be places in West and North Yorks.

Yep, Oakleys are the kind of things I had in mind.

I guess it's just a matter of searching the web to find the "posh" opticians who would do that kinda thing.

Rugby's VisionExpress has Oakley's for sale with frames for prescription lenses starting at about £85 (and topping out at about £225) - presumably for just the frame....

I was wondering about these but since my left eye is now
-6.75, and right eye -5.5 just how much the curvature of the actual eyepiece would add to the thickness of the glass that the lens would have to be ground from....
