Why are there no proper climbing walls in the centre of Manchester. Warrington and Marple are all very well, but if you haven't got a car they are seriously inconvient. That leaves the climber with Salford Uni wall (less said the better), Broughton (quality bouldering but v.hard) and the joke that is Mcdougal(£2 for a campus board!?!?!)

Has no one seriously considered building a proper facility in the city, there are masses of old buildings around and a couple of the Uni's would probably put up a bit of cash too.

In reply to nick: I thought the guy ( Dave i think) from awesome walls Liverpool was considering sticking up a new wall in Manchester - Have a look at some older threads ( almost certainly 2000).

Isn't there a rope race near stockport?
