 Topic - The price of gear!

I have noticed that more and more people are complaining about the cost of gear, shops ripping people off, not giving discount.....
Like everyone else i'm always on the look out for a bargin but it does amuse me when people complain because they don't get their 10% BMC discount or look of disgust i've seen when someone didn't get student discount. I and many others would never think about going into Topman or Next and demanding 10% discount on a pair of jeans.
Many people think there is a huge mark up on outdoor gear, its about 100%, but once you take of nearly 20% in VAT there's not too much profit for the retailer. EG Jacket has an RRP of £200, £100 striaght off to the supplier, Nearly £40 off in VAT, that leaves £60 profit to the retailer, i don't now many retailer that sell many jackets for £200 a day.
