The Kalanka is one of the few jackets to be constructed entirely from the latest generation of Stretch GORE-TEX® Pro Shell and the first to have mechanical stretch and feature the unique micro grid backer technology. In our pursuit of the ultimate climbing hardshell we've not just skimped on a few inserts, every facet of this jacket benefits from a fabric that is flexible and stretchy. The end result is total protection that can adapt and change as quickly as you to the demands of climbing and mountaineering at the highest levels.
Recognising also that for stretch fabrics to be truly beneficial the fit also needs to be adjusted, the Kalanka features an updated version of our Active Cut; its ergonomic cut featuring a revised articulated and pre-shaped sleeve for unhindered movement on the hardest routes.
The Kalanka Jacket is also the first in our collection to feature the brand new Super Alpine HC (Helmet Compatible) Hood. In development for nearly 18 months and aided by some of the leading alpinists of our generation, this new hood has been engineered to work in synergy with a variety of modern climbing helmets better than any other to date. It allows complete sideways and vertical head rotation ensuring a full field of view at all times, it features a shaped front chin guard as well as Silicon grip strips and remains fully adjustable. Our storm proven laminated and wired brim does of course come as standard on this jacket.
The Kalanka represents the current state of the art in every aspect of its design and function, a jacket that represents not just a small step forwards but a giant leap for those venturing onto the hardest faces.
