Petzl Tikka R+ And RXPNew to Petzl's Performance range and joining the NAO are the reactive Tikka R+ and RXP. Powerful headlamps that are intelligent and rechargeable for challenging activities and intensive use.
REACTIVE LIGHTING technology perfected by Petzl revolutionizes hands-free lighting. This system uses a light sensor to automatically adapt the brightness beam pattern to the needs and minimum battery life chosen by the user. This innovative technology works on headlamps equipped with a rechargeable battery and is designed for intensive use.

The Reactive Lighting technology varies the light output automatically. A sensor on the torch measures the amount of light that bounces back, the torch then corrects the output instantly either increasing or decreasing the strength of the beam. This optimises the output of light and preserves battery use. For comfort a new easy to adjust head band has been designed. The rear double straps have been shaped to cradle the rear of the head during activity creating stability whilst on the move.

Both models feature three REACTIVE LIGHTING levels that can be selected depending on activity and how the headlamp is being used.

Petzl Reactive Lighting-Maximum Power is power priority giving you a high light output for fast activity such as running.

-Standard Power balances power output with battery life and is probably the best mode for most outdoor activities.

-Maximum Autonomy prioritises battery life and is the best mode where battery life/time is a concern, though it's perfect for general use.

As well as the Reactive Lighting mode both headlamps can be used in constant or red light modes. In these modes the light levels are constant though not as powerful as Reactive Light mode. The included Lithium-Ion battery is charged via a USB port though AAA batteries can be used via an adapter if you do not have access to a USB charging device.

Petzl Tikka R+TIKKA R+

A compact, powerful and rechargeable headlamp with REACTIVE LIGHTING technology for performance.

REACTIVE LIGHTING technology now maximizes the performance of the TIKKA, the standard in compact headlamps. Light output adapts instantly to the environment and is optimized to guarantee the chosen burn time. The mixed beam gives the advantage of lighting adapted to close-range vision and to moving around (from 7 to 170 lumens, from 2 to 65 meters). The rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery with USB connection is suitable for frequent use.

Petzl Tikka RXPTikka RXP

Compact, powerful, multi-beam rechargeable headlamp, with REACTIVE LIGHTING technology for performance.
REACTIVE LIGHTING technology now upgrades the TIKKA, the standard in compact headlamps. Light output and beam pattern instantly adjust to the environment. Light output is optimized to guarantee the chosen burn time. The wide, mixed or focused beam gives lighting that can be adapted to any situation, from close-range to distance vision (from 7 to 215 lumens, from 2 to 110 meters). The rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery with USB connection is suitable for frequent use.

The Petzl Tikka RXP has greater power output than the R+ with the addition of varying beam patterns.

Petzl Tikka RXP

The Tikka R+ and RXP follow the introduction of REACTIVE lighting on the Petzl NAO headlamp and are due to be available November 2013. More information on the Tikka range is available from Petzl's website.
