Staff Team Required VauxWall Climbing Centre, London
VauxWall is a facility of The Lakeland Climbing Centre Limited. We are driven by our passion for climbing and the positive effects it can bring to everyone’s lives. Our London facility will set a new standard for accessible, clean and constantly evolving indoor climbing. In partnership with our customers, staff, sponsors and suppliers we will create and develop a friendly, efficient and safety conscious centre of excellence for bouldering that everyone can enjoy. Strong links with our site in Kendal will provide opportunities for customers to continue their journey into the diverse sport of climbing in the stunning Lake District National Park.
The Centre in Vauxhall is due to open in May 2014 and we require a full staff team. We are looking for experienced, diligent and passionate applicants with flexibility and commitment; all roles involve weekend and evening work. As a central London bouldering centre only 100m from a Zone 1 underground and national rail station the centre will be a buzzing hive of climbing psych. We want to create a team to match that can provide exceptional and efficient customer service. If this sounds like you the following positions are available:
Deputy Manager (full time)
Beyond the primary role of Duty Manager the post holder has direct responsibility for oversight and stock control for our small onsite shop, is expected to set high quality boulder problems, provide instruction and assist the Centre Manager in team training and performance management.
Duty Manager (full & part time positions available)
As part of small multifunctional team the role of Duty Manager is central to the effective running of the Centre. You will be responsible for the provision of a safe, fun and welcoming climbing environment. When on duty you will directly manage the day to day operations including the reception, café and shop with additional tasks including instruction, cleaning and route setting.
Team Member (full & part time positions available)
Working with the Duty Manager and on your own initiative you are expected to provide an exceptional level of customer service in all centre operations. A significant part of this role will be instruction delivering inductions, coaching and junior programme.
