Your efforts will help Cavell Nurses' Trust to raise £1 million that will change the lives of over 3000 nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants in need and crisis, whilst also commemorating the Centenary of Edith Cavell's death.

The event experience of 2015, we will be partnering with a number of international nurses and army representatives from across all allied countries including Canada and the USA to commemorate and remember Edith Cavell as a heroine of WW1 and all those lost during the First World War. Edith Cavell was a British nurse who saved the lives of soldiers, helping some 200 escape from German occupied Belgium during World War 1. This led to her arrest and, after being tried for treason, was sentenced to death by German firing squad. In her honour, the mountain running above Athabasca Pass was named in her honour.

To take part in this event, we are looking for people who love climbing – whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced. After an initial fitness assessment, training will be provided for those who are less experienced in the Lake District throughout August/September (flexible to meet individual needs) and again next year.

This is a chance of a lifetime, to not only take part in the climb - an exhilarating experience in itself, but to do so with a group of like-minded individuals, enabling you to meet new people, whilst raising funds for such a worthwhile cause. Along with the climb itself, which will be completed in one full day, there will be a host of activities to ensure you are able to experience the beautiful scenery whilst you're there, ranging from kayaking to mountain biking.

If you are selected for the challenge programme and the climb of Mount Edith Cavell, the Cavell 100 will be awarded specially commissioned medals at a high profile and prestigious celebration event in central London, where a film of the challenge will be premiered. There will be a roll of honour on our website as a tribute to the 100 individual challengers with media coverage throughout the build-up and challenge itself.

So, what are you waiting for?! Challenge yourself to the climb of your life in the Canadian Rockies! If you would like to register your interest in this event and to find out more, please visit our website , email or call 01527 595 999.

Climb date: 22nd – 29th August 2015
