DMM is a company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells high quality equipment for use in climbing, mountaineering, tree care, working at height, rope access and rescue. DMM strives to achieve the highest levels of quality, innovation, and service.

DMM currently has the following vacancy:

Product Development Assistant
This is an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer/Developer to gain experience as part of a busy team creating high quality equipment for DMM. The opening may suit a recent graduate, a student looking for a long term placement in industry, or a junior product developer. The work will be demanding, varied, and ultimately rewarding. The focus will be on the technical textile products that sit alongside the world famous metalwork in our range. This will require a sound working knowledge of product design/development and a logical, methodical, highly organised approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks and projects as set by the Product Manager. These could include research, product testing and evaluation, concept generation, technical drawings, range plan proposals, product design and development, admin, sourcing, and report writing.
  • Maintain the ethos and attention to detail that makes DMM a world leader
  • Ensure that project records are maintained as required by our Quality Assurance: Design Control system


Essential Skills

 

  • A background in technical product design and development
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A working knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • The ability to multi-task and work within time constraints to deliver projects to expectations
  • Excellent written and spoken communication standard
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a tight knit team
