Duty Manager & Instructor Vacancies, Recruitment Premier Post, 1 weeks @ GBP 75pw We are looking to recruit motivated individuals with great communication skills to work as part of our established team. Manchester Climbing Centre prides itself on creating an environment that’s safe, encouraging and inclusive. Instructor Vacancies

In the instructor role you will be required to run climbing sessions for adults and children and assist on reception and the cafe. Full in-house training is provided.

Duties include:


  • Instructing various climbing sessions for all ages and abilities, which will include adult courses for beginners and improvers, kids’ clubs, parties and other group sessions and programs.
  • Delivering the NICAS award schemes (inductions will be provided)..
  • Dealing with customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Working on reception, taking bookings, phone calls and cash handling.
  • Selling services and products offered.
  • Flexible working – including evenings and weekends.


The successful applicant will need to be hard working, self-motivated and have at least 2 years climbing experience.
The following skills are essential:


  • Great communication skills.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • SPA or CWA desirable however in house training will be provided.

 


Part-Time Duty Manager

We are looking for individuals who have had previous experience managing a team of people and/or have an extensive understanding of the workings of an indoor climbing facility.

Duties include:


  • All aspects of centre operations during shift.
  • Instruction & reception based tasks.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, cleanliness and customer service.
  • Management and training of teams of instructors and reception staff during shift.
  • Customer satisfaction, including managing any issues which arise on shift.


The successful applicant will be responsible for opening and closing the centre, as well as ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This will include keeping the centre clean and tidy, upholding all Climbing Centre Group health and safety policies, cashing up, managing staff, dealing with customers, and promoting a safe and fun atmosphere throughout the centre.

In addition the successful applicant will be a self-motivated team leader who will ideally have the following attributes:


  • Proven track record of team management or team based work
  • A comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols within indoor climbing environments
  • Experience in climbing instructing (Climbing Wall Award or Single Pitch Award desirable)


Shift Pattern: Rolling rota, to include weekdays, evenings & weekends
Weekly Hours: Average of 20hrs per week
