Ten years ago there were just a handful of hold manufacturers. Finding and selecting the right holds was a simple and unimaginative procedure. Since then climbing walls, both public and personal, have proliferated nationally and there is now a large demand for holds. This has resulted in a huge increase in the number of different manufacturers offering a wide variety of holds for sale.
So, where do we buy these holds? The selection available in many outdoor shops is fairly poor, with most stocking just one or two different brands of hold and the chances of finding a bag of T-nuts or some countersunk bolts is minimal.
The problem of selling holds through established retail outlets seems to be fairly simple. Most shops do not have a big enough demand to justify stocking large ranges, but could any one company justify stocking every hold from every manufacturer? This would seem to be very unlikely.
The approach that Indoor-Rock.co.uk has taken on this supply issue is not unique to business, but it does fit the holds market perfectly.
Indoor-Rock is effectively a 'hold broker'.
The advantages are immediately obvious: Indoor Rock does not need to hold stock so it can market the whole range from any one manufacturer; you can buy from several manufactures at the same time and make just one payment.
Currently, Indoor Rock sells products by French Rock, Bendcrete, Holdz, Moon, Beacon Holds, Wager Holds, King Kong and very shortly also Entreprises. The range of holds available is substantial and you can buy all your nuts, bolts and other fixings at the same time.
Indoor-rock.co.uk is an imaginative approach to an old problem. We hope it works out.
