Wow. I just saw what this normally looks like today, I think you have to have been there to appreciate this pic! For the benefit of anyone who hasn't, the arc of cloud in the foreground is the river Wye, and you can see the pillars of the Severn bridge in the distance, and steam from the Avonmouth refinery. Nice one Mark :)

Yes, very sceanic. What time of day was it? I am theorising as to Katabatic winds as a causal - but they require surface cooling.
Also a little puff of smoke(?) directly below the Yew tree - Avonmouth perhaps?

Cool photo. Wyncliffe has to have one of the best views from the top of a crag.
