Nice one, 5.13b.
mr mills - 18/Aug/09
5.13b? I honestly have no idea, have you climbed in the Cirque?
Jonny2vests - 18/Aug/09
has that sky been photoshoped in? the exposure of the sky is too dark for in proportion to the exposure of the ground...
Jayson Keable - 21/Aug/09

Looks similar to a climb in a black Diamond ad, wonder if theyre the same?
remus - 23/Aug/09
the skyline above the rock he is climbing looks fake. Dis you shop it?
Dangerous Dave - 23/Aug/09
Deeply envious of your blue skies!! My memories of the Fairy Meadow was a lot more rain!! Brings back happy memories though...
Gethin Thomas - 23/Aug/09
No photoshop, the original remains completely unchanged. Just a talented photographer.
Jonny2vests - 24/Aug/09
sweet man how did the rest of the trip go?
dave4430 - 24/Aug/09
We had some major rockfall on the Lotus Flower Tower, and the climbing is hugely undergraded. We went for adventure and thats what we got, we didn't top out though.
Jonny2vests - 25/Aug/09
Cool photo, but indeed just not looks real :) Am I wrong, that the line goes straight to the climber without any clips until the last one in the top?
Cool idea for a picture anyway!
RockShock - 26/Aug/09
Can't see anywhere for gear! Eeek
subflux - 27/Aug/09
incredible, unlikely-looking piece of rock. are there any other photos of it around?
Andy Moles - 27/Aug/09
Appallingly PS'd. Fake!
Simon S - 28/Aug/09
The route appears to be lit from the left (see rope shadow ) but background boulders seem to be lit from the right.
GlennWatson - 28/Aug/09
Lovely Photo. Sorry you didn't top out on the LFT. I really had to comment on the PS comments. Having been there, this is not a PS image. The route climbs the groove then the opposite face to the one we can see, which has bolts. It is obligatory to cut loose on the cobras head! I tried to get a picture that captured this as well as your image but failed when I was there a long time ago now.
Mark Reeves - 28/Aug/09
Thanks Mark, these comments about photoshop were starting to get on my tits, and all this talk about shadows etc, next you'll be saying the moon landing was faked...
Its a sport route that I dogged my way up, but I pulled the rope from the midway ledge and started again - which is why none of the bolts are clipped in the lower section. The top bolts are all clipped but they're all on the other side of the arete.

Thanks for the abusive email Jon. Very kind of you.
Simon S - 01/Sep/09
Anytime Simon. Try and engage brain before posting next time.
Jonny2vests - 01/Sep/09
Its a shame folk who know a little think they know it all, there's no PS work here. As someone else who has been there, it looks exactly as it should.
To those who think 'the sky is too dark', I can only presume you mean 'that mountain looks brighter than I am used to' - this is because it is mostly bare, white granite.
To those who think the shadows look wrong, imagine how train tracks appear to converge, now photograph them with a wide-angle with the sun directly in line, hey presto 'unnatural' shadows in two directions.
Nice photo Nick. I remember it being sustained! Had to rest a couple of times.
Adam Long - 04/Sep/09
Thanks Adam - well put.
Jonny2vests - 04/Sep/09
Unfortunately for the none believers this is the real deal, the more cynical of you should go and check it out!!!
