Heavy rain at dusk over the Cullin.
Taken from alongside a camp fire on Knoydart (fillet steak with baked potato if you're interested), this is pretty much straight out of the camera (4 shot stitch).

Very nice indeed, bet it looks spot on at full resolution!.... glad to see I'm not the only one that carries 100-400 around, terrific lens.

Thanks! I have to say that I actually took it for the options it would give me stalking the deer but it's a wonderful lens when stopped down a bit.

I first used mine as a landscape lens by chance whenI was in the summer isles and now I never leave without it. At f8 it is sharp as you like when picking out distant objects.

Cracking shot, It really would be good full res. The stormy middle section is brilliant.

Thanks! The full version is huge with brilliant tonality - it's going on the wall!

That's a peach of a shot! Could you tone down the highlights on the left a touch though, they draw the eye away a little from the fantastic central wisps.

Chris - Done; unfortunately I've killed off the old votes though (muppet!)

I wondered why it is no longer photo of the week. Great shot btw!
