Blue line is my bypass of choice with 2 simple downclimbs (mod) and no uneccesary height loss. Red line is to access the Brittle side bypass (of the abseils). It is looser, more awkward to find and loses 10-20m too much height before regaining Bealach Mhic Choinnich. The white line indicates the profile of this northern end of the Thealaich Ridge; background blended too well on this occasion but the series of right-angle steps often shows well from Alasdair.

Where is the pic taken from? Didn't have any problem with this descent. Just cut right past the long sloping slab and soon ended up in the Bealach. The party behind us who were doing the Lagan Round looked like they were doing an abseily type affair down that slab and I think we were done with snacking at the top of KC by the time they hit the Bealach.

Zoomed from Alasdair. Your experience is one I have had many a time; perhaps I shouldn't be telling folk in case they all reach King's ahead of me!
