the ropes are just there as weight training? Or is the peg clipped?

There's gear in a crack just round the arete, and gear in the top of the wall down and right (just out of shot).
The angle of the camera to the crag and direction of illumination make the cutaway appear much deeper than it actually is.
I've been after almost exactly this shot for years!
