blooming hell, better your trousers were a bit brown after this. Did they make it up?
stvredmond - 16/Feb/13
How did that happen?
lewiz - 16/Feb/13

One of those moments were the adrenaline/fear hit either brings the game to a bone snapping rapid end....or fuels the victorious battle over through the roof.........and the verdict was?
shaun walby - 24/Feb/13
Bet that's the last time you place a bad runner. Had a similar experience at Curbar, focuses the mind somewhat!
Greg Kirkpatrick - 25/Feb/13
That is scarier than a very scary thing.
We need to know what happened.....?!

Just as he made the cut loose move onto the overhang, his nut popped leaving him dangling... he tried to back climb but couldn't do it so he got his heel up and managed to place a couple cams above his head, then lowered safely off them. In short, he was shaken up but completely uninjured.

10/10 for getting out of it unscathed, good effort.
Only 1/10 for gear placement though!!
I go for the car engine approach when I'm somewhere like that: twin overhead cams :o)

Been there, done that! An over-enthusiastic belayer decided that the rope should be tight at all times, which lifted the runner out. Even worse, he then decided that it should be kept tight even at this point too. There was a frank excahnge of views, a brief consideration of the fall, followed by a do or die recovery to the slab and the ground, and further instruction. Oh my.

F@*K! Glad you got out of it unscathed. (What about runners by the horn at the top of the slab).
Ciderslider - 04/Mar/13
Nice escape! When I did this the first time my nut popped out before I went for the cut loose, got scared tons and dropped 3 gears in there before going over the edge.
Qisheng Xie - 04/Mar/13
I just got sweaty palms reading about it....

Been there, got the laundry bill to prove it. The motivation to climb through and not die was to survive so I could chase my belayer around the crag with a large Hexentric.
Cool skills to place good gear for a lower off; glad you made it down in one piece!
