Has this been 'enhanced'? I'd like to see the original without the weird colours.
Have a 5 though.

Thanks estivoautumnal - yes the shot has been 'processed' as I always shoot in RAW. The main adjustments were to bring up the shadows and bring down the highlights as the dynamic range from the back of the cave was huge. I also experimented with split toning, which I very rarely use, but I wanted to keep a bit of blue in the ice - early versions had a blue cast over the whole image, but I thought I'd rectified it....?!? Thanks for your vote and comments!

This is a very good action photo where you can actually see the climber's face and sense the exposure. However, personally, I would have darkened the rock in the chimney as it would highlight the figure better, which is where the action is.

Thanks for your comments Sean, much appreciated. Funnily enough I recently boosted the shadows as I thought they were too dark! Maybe I need a middle ground...

I agree with Sean and maybe straighten the horizon - still agreat shot though

Great picture! That wouldn't be the Tommy from DSMC class of 93 would it?

Now that is a great angle to achieve a pic on a hard to photo route. 'Cold Climbs' has a few superb b/w shots on the Minus Face and this is more in the modern idiom.

This is a great shot of a brilliant day of climbing. All your B/W images from that day are superb too.
Mike Pescod - 25/Oct/13
That's very kind Mike, thanks - you know none of it would have been possible without your expert guiding and modelling!!
