Geoff Fixter and Eric Marr at the top of The Slab [Ordinary], Roseberry Topping. 1958.
© Tony Marr, May 1958
Route: Slab Route (Ordinary)
Climbers: Geoff Fixter, Eric Marr.
Camera used: Kodak Box Brownie. Scan from B/W print.
How the crag used looked in 1958. The big corner behind the climbers was the classic VD, The Chimney . The Joker HVS climbed the big pillar on the right. Eliminator E2 5b , took the highest crack on the left. Captain's Controversy / Stimulator climbed the cracks further left.
The rock collapses are due to continuing settlement in old Ironstone mines which lie a few hundred feet below the summit.

Thanks for uploading this one. It's fantastic to see how much has collapsed. I can't really see what is going to go next - maybe the entire face of the pasketti alpinist?!
