The climb Stimulator [1967] was not climbed when this photo was taken. However, part of that route can just be seen right of Eric. The route starts up the fine crack above the jammed block [which was called Captain's Controversy [HS 1965], Captain's Controversy stays with the wide crack, Stimulator stepped right and followed hand jamming cracks in a fine position [can just be seen top right].
All these routes were very solid and popular, for about twenty years...in the mid 1980's subsidence widened these cracks and loosened the previously jammed blocks...the rest is history.
