Why has this got a 5 after 36 votes?! and to make weekly top 10?! No colour saturation, no contranst, center composition and dispite how exciting the route looks, it's a boring picture. Interesting content but poor technical execution, not even any post production. This climb and the scene has so much potential but hardly any effort has been put into the photo. Obviuosly, everyone who's voted here has no clue.
Jayson Keable - 30/May/14
Personally, I would prefer interesting content over technical execution every single time. This shot captured the scale of the climb, the context of the Pass and yeah, you could have some better contrast in colour but this was taken by a climber on another climb which for me adds to the photo. 5 stars.

Best shot I've seen of left wall
tony4433 - 30/May/14
Cracking photo but I obviously have no clue, sorry Jason.

Theres always loads of crap photos on weekly top ten Jason, its annoying if your a photographer because you try hard and often dont get a look in, but it isnt a 'photographers' website in the end. People are looking for interesting content or photos of routes they have dobe or have a connection to in some way.

Have a 5 dude, this picture makes me want to go climbing and that's why i look on here!
samparsons - 02/Jun/14
Have a 5 purely because this reminds me of why I filled my pants on the corner, going above 30m for the first time...
jamesgodwin64 - 02/Jun/14
It's a great pic - you don't have to have a ridiculous lens and be a photoshop expert to take a great picture, bore off!
Blake - 03/Jun/14
Good sense of scale, one of the best pictures for showing what Left Wall might be like. Makes me want to climb it (more).
Dafydd Llywelyn - 03/Jun/14
Jason you sound like a right tool. Butthurt much? Clearly the majority of people here would look at this classic photo and really appriciate it. Why dont you work on your ego a little bit and take your snornful nuance nit picking to a professional photographes site. Good photo and good effort on the route Joe! I took a screamer 10 ft above you, with my gear where you are now last year. Awesome
duncandarnell - 05/Jun/14
Wow, jealous much Jayson Keable? Obviously no one has a clue about what makes a good photo because they didn't vote using your criteria, but their own, based on what they feel is an inspiring shot. Idiots! Perhaps you should expand your thinking a little. 5* photo!
JezH - 05/Jun/14
Jayson, I think you should get in touch with your emotions and realise that how much you value a photo is mostly down to how it makes you feel. The value you place on it could also be down to the documentary value of the photo, or maybe it stirs up memories and causes strong emotions.
Also realise that it's perfectly possible that the same photo might have a different effect on different people. That's why people are called 'individuals', because no two people are the same. It's amazing really, when you think about it. This universal law gave birth to the word 'subjective'.
Once you've pondered this for a while, consider the notion that talented artists are people who naturally and intuitively understand these principles, which is why you're not a talented photographer. Maybe you will be one one day. Maybe. If/when that day comes, please post your work here and I'm sure people will be more than happy to tell you if your photos have abided by the rule of thirds and possess sufficient contrast.

Great photo and deserves a 5 just to infuriate the photography bores!
tom_holdsworth - 08/Jun/14
No 'post productioní, so well done, have a 5.
Cog - 08/Jun/14
Excellent photo. I know it's really hard to get photos like this. Have a 5.
abseil - 09/Jun/14
Fantastic shot - everything about it!
Fraser - 14/Jun/14
As someone else who has no clue nice photo :)
Honestly Jason it is taken by someone mid climb with a cheap(no offence) camera capturing a valuable moment from a good days climbing on a classic route. Not some contrived scenario with abseils and external flash's. If anything, seen as you have "a clue" you should know better and appreciate it more.
Jordan Senior - 16/Jun/14
Deserves a five as it's an amazing shot and as there is no photo manipulation.
