Looking as gormless as ever but a nice little shot nonetheless. Generally the ice wasn't too steep but this little section was quite.

It is only about 40 degrees and has a good runout. We went up the same bit without a rope because so much ice was falling from the teams ahead of us who actually managed to get out of bed early. The only scary thing about this climb is the descent -- we teamed up with a couple of Scots for the 6 abseils through steep wooded rocks... with frozen gloves it wasn't fun.
