This was the 2nd crossing in modern times. No less exciting with the use of decent ropes and Jumars.

Well spotted! This is a young lady doctor from New Zealand. Sorry I've forgotten her name. She traversed to the summit of the stac from right to left, then continued back to the main island. Possibly the first complete traverse of the Geo? Sadly, she was killed a year later on Mount Cooke, NZ.

Is this the first recorded slackline, or are there two ropes? Hard to tell...

This was a tensioned single rope across the geo (Hamish MacInnes is a master in this field), with safety ropes, which in reality are pretty useless if the main rope breaks! Yes, its difficult to see the ropes in this low res image, the body does look like a fly on the lens...... GNH
