what a shame someone took a power tool to rock, shouldn't happen

Not ever, or not in this instance? Please expand.

I agree with Jamie, Mr B ..please expand. I am usualy a trad man myself but I have no issues with clipping a bolt or placing them as the case may be if it make a climb safe and useable.

it leaves a scar on the land, if you dont feel safe climbing something dont climb it. Its un-ethical in my eyes

well you are entitled to your view, but what I learn by pushing my limits clipping bolts aids me when I am 25ft above my last poor runner and need to get my head together. Knowing what my axe can and can not be stable on and being comfortable with it is an assest in any arsenal.Plus you overlook that this place is a quarry that is fly tipping mecca ..so if anything the presence of climbers there only benifits as we slowly clean the area. So I guess you could say we are healing a larger scar but leaving minor ones behind. :)
