Hate to say it, Alastair, with such superb images, but there seems to be some serious fringing on the edges

Actually I've just had another look, and there is some of the same on some of the more 'contrasty' images, but none as marked as this one. If you sharpened for printing then that would probably explain it.

Brilliant Alastair. Absolutely brilliant - likewise The Langdales. Can I ask if (and it's probably obvious) but were they taken from the air ? helicopter; fixed wing - or balloon ?
And Dave dear is possibly attempting to view them on a PC....On Apple/Mac they are gem quality. Again, congratulations.

Thanks for that Bergalia. No not taken from the air, this Great Gable shot was taken from rocks near the top of Lingmell in front of Scafell and the Langdale shot was taken from the summit of Pike O' Blisco.

That's okay Dave, if you could be so kind as to give me a break down of the phrase 'serious fringing on the edges'? Do you mean the edges of the picture or all the edges of the features within the picture? Might just look a bit sharp on your screen, it was scaled down from a print version which is always going to be a bit sharper than something intended just for viewing on screen.
Anyway I'm intrigued as to how you think this is image has been fringed.

Nice photo but it doesn't belong with Gable Crag!
