Trent Bridge, Nottingham, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE NG2 5FA
Whenever it's light
Traverse till your forearms (and fingertips) explode into bloody pulp!
Objective dangers include psychopathic football fans in the football season. The bridge is very near the Nottingham Forest ground.
Not an official "climbing wall" but a superb (for stamina) traversing wall on the gritstone walls of the bridge at Trent Bridge in West Bridgford, Nottingham.
The climbable side is the West Bridgford side, NOT the City side. There are outside walls, and walls in the footpath tunnels that run under the bridge. The river side wall in the footpath tunnel is the best traversing wall I've ever been on. The low level traverse (miss out the top row of stones) is sustained English 6b with several 6c cruxes. This is where I trained for Lord of the Flies!
It can be damp after rain, but once you get your stamina up you'll be able to hold on. ["Nigel"]
